Onaka to Wanaka

We left rainy Franz Josef this morning and made our way south to Wanaka. We stopped on the way to Wanaka for some photo opportunities at a waterfall in the pouring rain. We also stopped at a scenic look out but unfortunately due to heavy fog the visibility was about 30ft at best. Once we got closer to Wanaka the skies cleared and it was actually really nice out. We checked into the base hostel in Wanaka (first base hostel we stayed at since Wellington) and it was gorgeous. It's the nicest hostel I have stayed in by far. Everything was clean and new and just generally awesome. I wish I could of stayed longer. I'll have to stop through again next time I am on the south island.

For dinner tonight I made traditional Canadian pancakes with imported Canadian Maple Syrup and breakfast sausages. It was awesome and the kitchen was a joy to cook in. I love gas stoves.
