Ferry to Nelson

Today we got up early and got back on the Kiwi Bus to head to the ferry terminal to catch the InterIslander to the South Island of New Zealand. The crossing was about 3 1/2 hours. Supposedly it's really scenic but it was rainy and foggy the whole time so we didnt see anything exciting. When we arrived in Picton we hopped on a new Kiwi Bus after waiting forever and a day for our bags to come around the baggage claim carousel. We drove out of Picton on for Nelson and stopped at a Cafe along the way where I had a delicious Quiche with spinach and feta. We got into Nelson around mid afternoon and got ourselves checked into a really nice hostel in Nelson.

Once we'd gotten everything checked in Jennie and I decided to walk to "The Centre of New Zealand" as it lies at the top of a hill in Nelson about a 15 minute walk from our hostel.

There was a beer tasting that night at the hostel that Jennie and I went to. We sampled a variety of New Zealand brewed beers and at the end of it I won a free "Kiwi Crawl" for myself in Queenstown along with a $5 discount for ten of my friends. I celebrated with a pint of Guinness and then hit the showers before our delicious roast beef dinner at the hostel.

After dinner we went out for some drinks in town at a Jazz Club and I met some new people which is always nice. On the way back to the hostel I stepped in a puddle which wasn't terribly plesant.
