Halloween in Auckland MEGA POST!!!

Halloween did not get off to a good start. I was feeling pretty crummy for the first portion of the day. I got a little bit better as the day went on but when I finally went down to the Globe Bar with Tim and Phil I still felt pretty bad. To make matters worse there was a $1000 free tab for ACB guests. This led to me having four Woodstocks and a Heineken. The four bourbon and colas made me feel exponentially worse, the Heineken didn't seem to hurt things any but I can't imagine it helped either. However the evening was saved when I decided to have a Raspberry Vodka Cruiser. It really seemed to pick me back up. After this I decided to go grab two energy drinks from the convenience store to bring me the rest of the way back into the game.

After my energy drinks I ran into some of my other friends and they asked if I wanted to join them. They were off to find another Club/Bar/Pub to go to. I ventured off with them and up finding out all the places the girls thought about going to were closed. Adam (Patch Adams as I was calling him that evening - you will be able to tell who is when you see a picture. Also for the record it wasn't a costume, he scratched his cornea the day before) made the executive decision that we should go to Father Ted's and enjoy our evening there. We wandered off to Father Ted's where I think I just about killed the bouncer checking ID's at the door when he saw how ridiculous my passport photo looks (think me with just over shoulder length hair). Once we got inside I snagged some pictures because it was a pretty cool looking place. Pictures to follow...

We hung out Father Teds for a couple hours listening to the live music which was really good and dancing up a storm. I had already had a lot to drink so I didn't get crazy at the pub. I only had a pint of Guinness just because I wanted to try it. It was quite enjoyable. I also made sure to get a picture for posterity.

As I said there was some dancing, some talking and just general camaraderie amongst friends. Here are some more pictures.

We all left Father Ted's around 1:45AM and made a pit stop at McDonalds where I grabbed a delicious $2NZD ($1.42CAD) Double Cheese Burger. After this my friends packed it in and I decided to head back to Globe Bar and see what was going or if anyone I knew was still there.

Within moments of arriving I found my friend Seth. He was talking to some people and just generally being Seth. I got a picture of him doing just that and then another one with me.

Seth hung around for about 15 minutes and then told me he was calling it a night. I thought about doing the same but then decided I'd just hang around. I ordered a Vokda & Redbull and then just kind of stood at a table drinking it. While I was standing at the table this fairly intoxicated girl came up and started talking to me. After talking to me for a couple minutes and just asking me basic questions (name, where I'm from, what I'm doing in New Zealand, etc). Somewhere during this conversation she noticed that I was "Mr.Wonderful" and started introducing me to everyone nearby as such. Following this we danced for a bit and she took some pictures of random people with my camera and some pictures of the two of us and then she introduced me to one of her friends (as Mr.Wonderful) and then she headed off. Now for some pictures of this whole spectacle...

After she left I ran into my friend Jade. He bought me a drink for reasons I don't understand and then left. I finished my drink and went up to the lounge to see if any thing exciting was going down and ran into one of my roommates talked to him for a bit and then he left to call his girlfriend. Then some Irish girl started talking to me eventually she left to go get something and asked me to watch her sword (she was dressed as a pirate). Which brings us to the final photo of me and a sword. After that I went upstairs put all my pictures on Facebook, wrote this blog post and then proceeded to brush my teeth and head to bed.
