w000t w000t PAYPAL Today111

Today I'm setting up my paypal account in attempt to
a) get donations from people who I supply with daily "software packs"
b) get money by buying and selling stuff on ebay and
c) just because its cool and everyone else is doing it.

Also if anyone that visits this blog happens to have a paypal account and wouldnt be horribly opposed to giving me a few dollars to put towards my school trip to Europe next year thats going to cost 3500 dollars it would be GREATLY appreciated :-) Thats about all for today. I have a pretty nifty link for you all to check out below. Enjoy.

Speed Humps Ahoy!

Alrighty folks I am back from trip to Squamish, and I am still in one piece albeit slightly battered from the trip home (which took bloody near 8 hours). Anyways at the ferry terminal I saw the amusing sign that can be seen posted here. The fact that we need a picture like this to warn us of the impending well marked speed bumps is somewhat dissapointing. But whats worse still is that they even have to write what it is for the chronically stupid. What kills me is that in todays purest politically correct society they chose to call it a speed "hump" instead of a speed "bump". In the eyes of some religious zealot or "concerned parent" I picture this being "grossly offensive". Either way I found it amusing/saddening but it made the wait at the termincal moderately more bareable. One thing I forgot to mention that adds to the humour, one of these signs appears about every twenty feet along the path to the booths and past them. In other news this weekend I found out I kick ass at Monopoly. I played five games this weekend with my cousins and Shawna. Good times were had by all.

The London Bombings

As you may or may not have heard there have been a series of terrorist attacks in the London area. Multiple bombs were detonated over the course of the morning killing a confirmed 37 people and wounding hundreds more. According to the BBC website there have been three explosions on trains and one on a double decker bus. Its very sad to see that these terrorist still think that they can get away with these barbaric acts that kill innocent people. Some sources have claimed that not suprisingly al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the attacks. I think the victims of these attacks will be in the hearts of all of us today. More info on these attacks can be found at the BBC website here BBC London Attacks In Depth

So true...

Virginity like bubble, one prick, all gone.
Man who run in front of car get tired.
Man who run behind car get exhausted.
Man with hand in pocket feel cocky all day.
Foolish man give wife grand piano, wise man give wife upright organ.
Man who walk through airport turnstile sideways going to Bangkok.
Man with one chopstick go hungry.
Man who scratch ass should not bite fingernails.
Man who eat many prunes get good run for money.
Baseball is wrong: man with four balls cannot walk.
Panties not best thing on earth! but next to best thing on earth.
War does not determine who is right, war determine who is left.
Wife who put husband in doghouse soon find him in cat house.
Man who fight with wife all day get no piece at night.
It take many nails to build crib, but one screw to fill it.
Man who drive like hell, bound to get there.
Man who stand on toilet is high on pot.
Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement.
Man who fish in other man's well often catch crabs.
Man who fart in church sit in own pew.

Indie Retail

I really enjoyed this article I stumbled upon today about the dying indie game retailers. The articles is written by the owner of Red Devil Games in New Jersey. So if you happen to be around there check him out. Also check out his awesome article about how large retailers like Walmart and such are replacing individually operated places. Also mega game retailers like Gamestop and EB Games, even though I quite enjoy the atmosphere at EB Games. Anyways check out the article here

"Telus, the future is full of bullshit"

Now ladies and gentlemen I have for the most part always liked telus. Sure the line speed kind of sucked (1.5Mbit) but tech support has always been very good but the main reason was that despite the pathetic 10GB bandwidth limit they didnt enforce it so it was the same as having unlimited. However Telus is singing a different tune now as I recently recieved a letter saying that I was using excessive amounts of bandwidth, sure 137GB in a month is a tad high. For the record I dont usually do that much but this month was an exception due to me getting invites to several new private bit torrent sites. But I digress. So now it turns out if this "excessive usage" continues our account will be TERMINATED. One thing that makes our case extra special is that we probably pay between 300-400 dollars monthly to Telus due to phone/cell/internet so I would think some leeway could be given. We called them, they said otherwise. So my problem is this here is a break down of Telus' "highspeed" internet packages.

Now the office and server plans do come with some extra do-dads (static ip, multiple e-mail accounts, added webspace, multiple ips etc etc) however let me dig up shaws highspeed plans.

As you can see there is a very appaling difference in packages Shaws basic package is essentially three times as fast as telus' and has twice the bandwidth limit, albeit the 20GB limit is still pretty sad its a moderate improvement. The xtreme package is more of an improvement atleast I could live with 50GB but look at the speed on the shaw package compared to the telus enhanced package. For a buck more shaw packs in an extra 4Mbits and 35GB more bandwidth to use. Im not going to commentate the business packages, you're all smart enough to compare them. Im going to assume speed wise the business ones are as fast or faster than the xtreme package. As you can see Telus needs to really pull it together and a)upgrade their lines b)have more realistic bandwidth limits.

For more information on Shaw and Telus and to read user reviews of the services visit our site of the day: Broadband Reports - http://www.dslreports.com/

Canadian army has to substitute paintballs for ammunition

Sadly the title of this article isn't too terribly shocking. I was browsing to the mytelus homepage to view my account usage and noticed this article not a moment too soon. The article talks about how the army was forced to RENT paintball guns from a local shop to use in a training excersise. Despite the amusing nature of this soldiers found that the paintballs added some realism over the Simunition they were supposed to have been using. They said that the paintballs added the realism of actually getting shot, one solider was quoted saying It gives the 'instant return' and the feeling that I can get killed." Needless to say the whole concept is very amusing. I will provide a link to the full article in question.
